#15. Forced, Switched, Lapped
A card technique perfect for card to impossible location
Hi guys, this week’s post features a technique that I hope you will love. Let’s get into it.
So this is what I have been playing around recently. It is a way to force a card and remove it from the deck while the spectator sees it still out-jogged.
Here is a GIF:
NOTE: There are a few small differences from the video because without the audio some movements would have looked weird.
And here is a video with another performance and the explanation:
POINTERS:
Rotate your torso while you show them the card, and rotate it back as you bring the deck closer to the edge of the table;
Cover the dropping card with your right hand to avoid flashing;
Let the spectator square the deck.
So this is all for this week. I know this post is a bit shorter than usual, but I have been working on a few projects (some of which are about magic) in the past week. You will see some of them in the near future.
See you soon,
Antonio

This is great, I always enjoy secretly lapping cards. The main difference between the GIF and the actual video, is that in the GIF, you take the card off the deck to show them, while in the tutorial, you push it to the side with the same hand holding the deck. I think the second method is better. To me, taking a card off the deck to show them, to then put it back on the deck, to then deal it down does not flow well and seems fishy. But pushing the card over to show them, and then dealing it down solves that issue.
However, in the video you also say that they take the card off to look at it themselves? So in-person it might be better to have them take and replace the card, but over zoom the push off is better.
